Download Cubase Pro 12

what is cubase

Cubase Pro 12 comes with many productivity and performance improvements, as well as exciting new ways to find inspiration and develop products. Whatever your musical goals, Cubase 11 will help you achieve them. Designed for producers, composers and mixers, the Steinberg Cubase Pro 11 is a complete music production environment that combines audio and MIDI instruments with amazing sound. Quick, flexible and intuitive, this powerful software can be used to record, mix, mix, record, edit, mix and optimize – perfect for creating and playing tracks from scratch to any genre.

For best audio quality, Cubase Pro 12 uses a 64-bit audio engine for frequencies up to 192 kHz. The software has an unlimited number of voices, instruments and MIDI tracks and can accommodate up to 256 physical inputs and outputs, as well as up to 256 channel groups. Key features include 5.1 surround and virtual reality processing, fully automatic delay compensation, transition capabilities and support for external instruments and effects. Users have access to 79 audio FX plugins, 18 MIDI FX plugins, eight virtual machines, with over 3000 sounds, and many improvements over previous versions of VariAudio 3 for audio and timing editing.

Since it was first introduced as a MIDI sequencer, Cubase requires a hardware device to be plugged into your computer in order for the software to run. Steinberg's dongles have evolved over the years as computer connectivity technology has come and gone, but all things considered, the revolutionary eLicenser system Steinberg has used for years is as secure as technology can get.

How To Record In Cubase 12

But in an era where consumers expect to download and run new software quickly, and where computers, especially desktop computers, have more and more external ports, the USB eLicenser has become a frozen problem. Recognizing these and other challenges, Steinberg is rolling out the eLicenser system on all of its products. Cubase 12 was ported for the first time. The Steinberg License is the ELicenser. The new system includes the software license to the Steinberg ID and authorizes up to three computers to use the software.

Activation is online, but once done, the computer does not have to be online - activation will always work (Steinberg is also developing an offline system).  When it's time to retire one of your external computers, download the software to reopen it and move on to another device. It won’t matter how Cuba converts external device controllers to plug-in scale, and it will have to upgrade with a new MIDI remote integration system.

How to use cubase recording software

The new setting includes a MIDI Device tab, which provides information about the specific properties of the MIDI controller and displays it on the control panel screen. There are many brands, and the most popular ones are Akai, Arturia, Novation, and Korg. But if you don’t own the controller (and you can’t find a version online), there’s no problem—it’s easy to create a new version. Just open MIDI Remote, create a new script and change the controller. Cubase will grab each control and create a widget for it on the screen.

You can then customize the style, size and layout of widgets to suit your dashboard. On the plugin front, the new MIDI remote mapping helper does a small job of assigning controls in your script to plugin parameters. This can be done in the Quick Control system as before. But now you can copy the plug-in directly without going to the hardware drivers. Maps can be saved, retrieved, and used in the plugin window, and the plugin now has the option to display speed control in its own window. All this represents a vast improvement over the old system.
